Breakfast with Santa Success |

On Saturday, December 16, the NF Lions Club hosted its annual Breakfast with Santa. More than 250 people attended the scrumptious breakfast, which included huge portions of pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage, expertly prepared by the Lions club members (who started cooking at 6:00 a.m.). With holiday music pouring from the high school cafeteria speakers and children dressed in their holiday best, patiently awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus, it was magic. At 9:45 a.m., Santa was transported to the event, courtesy of the NF Volunteer Fire Department, Company A. A line was formed and all the children waited anxiously for their chance to sit with Santa. Every child had a complimentary polaroid photograph with Santa, a candy cane and the chance to tell Santa what they were wishing for this year. More than 150 children met with our wonderful Santa. Every year we award prizes to four different age groups: 2 year old; 3/4 year olds; 5/6/7 year olds and 8+ (names are pulled randomly from the prize box). This year the winners were: Nathaniel Greene, William Capute, Mariella Giordano and Devon Imperati. New this year was the Gingerbread House contest. There were four entries and each entry won a prize. Cassidy and Bobby Redenz were awarded 1st prize, 2nd prize went to Janice Brno, 3rd prize was awarded to the Felicione family and Honorable Mention went to Matthew and Luke Pepin. We are looking forward to having more entries next year and hopefully make this an integral part of Breakfast with Santa. |
