Welcome!

This is the official home page of the New Fairfield Lions club of Connecticut.  This site is intended to provide information to the general public as well as our members.  A Lions club is a group that comes together and shares a common interest in community service.   Our motto is "We serve."    Membership is through invitation. To learn more about the Lions or to be considered for membership, contact us.  You'll be invited to attend a meeting as a guest to learn more about the club and to meet its members.  For more information on Lions International, consult the official Lions Club International web site.

The New Fairfield Lions supports the youth of our community through its local Leo chapter.  In addition, the New Fairfield Lions charters two local Cub Scout Packs 137 and 142, and two local Boy Scout Troops 137 and 42.

  • March 14, 2008 - The New Fairfield Lions attended Lions Day at the United Nations.  Pictures can be found on Flickr.   Over 700 Lions attended from over 17 countries, including 100 Lions from Italy.

  • January 10, 2008 - Happy New Year!  Mark your calendars, this year's carnival is scheduled for July 15-19.  While it seems like it's a long way off, it will be here before you know it.

  • November 27 - The New Fairfield Lions is excited to announce that its annual Senior Christmas Luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 12 PM in the NFHS cafeteria.  All Seniors are invited for a complimentary holiday meal, which includes turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, rolls and deserts, all the fixing for a grand meal!   Musical entertainment by our very own DJ.  Live performances by the NF High School choral.  And prizes....Just sign up at the Senior Center.
  • November 27 - To celebrate the historical relationship between Lions and the United Nations (UN), attend the 30th Annual Lions Day with the UN on Friday, March 14, 2008, in New York City. To download a registration form, click here.

  • October 31 - Happy Halloween.  Added link to District 23-A website.
  • September 5 - The New Fairfield Lions Club is proud to host the 16th Annual Antique Classic and Custom Car Show.  The Car Show will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Squantz Pond State Park.  Registration will begin promptly at 9am and end at 12pm.  The pre-registration fee is $12, the fee will be $15 the day of the car show.   Judging will take place from 1-2pm and trophies will be awarded at 3pm.  In addition to first, second and third place trophies, there will be a president's trophy and longest distance traveled today.  For the first time this year, the car show will have flea market space available (approximately 15' by 20') for $20.  If you are looking to spend a day with your family or friends with great atmosphere, this is the event to attend.  In addition to the beautiful waterfront scenic grounds, there will be something for everyone, and incredible car exhibition, live music, food and refreshments.  If you have any questions regarding the car show, contact Joe at joseph@corp-construction.com or call Doug at (203) 746-9331 (days only).
  • September 1 - New Fairfield Lions Senior Picnic
  • July 24 - The annual carnival was a success
  • July 24 - Twilight run for Sight was a huge success.  Thanks to all that participated.  The race results can be found here.
  • July 4 - Annual New Fairfield Lions parade through town center.
  • June - Mark Your Calendars for New Fairfield Lions Carnival which takes place from July 17-21 at Consolidated School in New Fairfield.  The carnival opens at 6:30pm each night and there are rides, games and food available. 
  • June 27 - Lion President Doug Stram Thanks the New Fairfield Lions.   Lion Doug thanks the New Fairfield Lions, and the New Fairfield community, for the opportunity to serve as the president for the New Fairfield Lions.  Lion Doug will be stepping down on July 1, 2007 when his term expires.   Lion David Meyers is the new incoming president.
  • June 27 - New Fairfield Lions Club 25th Annual Independence Day Parade.  Just a reminder to mark your calendar for Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 9:30am at the center of town.  There will be free hot dogs, balloons and flags for all!
  • June 27 - New Fairfield Lions Donate LED Sign.  The New Fairfield Board of Education accepted, with gratitude, a donation in the amount of $9,875 from the New Fairfield Lions Club for a new LED sign that will replace the current sign in front of the football field at their June 21, 2007 meeting.  Dr Castagnola, Superintendent of Schools, said that the sign will be used to announce report cards, open houses, plays, concerts and athletic events.  Lion Don Cleary was on hand at the meeting and stated that the New Fairfield Lions are "very happy" to make the donation.

Meetings

The New Fairfield Lions club of Connecticut meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Biscotti's restaurant in New Fairfield.  Biscotti's restaurant is located on Cottontail road which is just off Route 37 - just before the Mobil gas station at the intersection of Route 39.

 

About New Fairfield, Connecticut

New Fairfield is located in western Connecticut on the border of New York state.  The town has 13,500 residents and comprises 25.3 square miles.  The closest major city is Danbury and New York City is under an hour away.  The town borders Candlewood Lake which is a popular recreation area and the largest lake in Connecticut.
